chibi. (created by hand indie brand, Int'l.)

was formed sometime around 2003 by Yuki Nagai Morris with her friends and loved ones’ support. chibi. is based on Yuki's love of yarn + textile, mixing old to new, and being unique. So everything is designed that she would carry, wear, or use it. Together with a wonderful group of people, she will continue to make build a brand with new ideas and old-fashioned handwork.
chibi.’s products are 100% original and unique just like me and you, and handmade and sent just for you.

YUKI creates.

Born in Belgrad, Yugoslavia to a Japanese family, lived and traveled all over the globe. Graduated a college in Japan with a fine art/art history degree. After she worked every crappy job in Tokyo, she moved to San Francisco in 1998 with a few crochet hooks and a crappy sewing machine she got from an infomercial.

The 99% self-taught knit designer with some instruction when she was 6, Lliving in a little dungeon apartment on Haight street not having any money to go to IKEA helped her staying creative and expanding her horizons. She began making “chibi style” home and fashion accessories while she was studying graphic design at Academy of Art College and continued after receiving BFA.

Other than crochetting and sewing, she designs, writes, photographs, doodles and hums. She doesn’t care much about the latest technology, she still doesn’t have cable, and she can’t do math except for counting stitches, but sure she knows a lot of things.

chibi.Standard

Once upon a time, there was a borderline-genius girl. On her travels around the world, she searched for the perfect bag that would meet her standards and her lifestyle -- that is unique, cute, holds all the junk she carries around, not too heavy, good for work and shopping, and affordable. After many unhappy purchases she decided to design and create her own.
To do this she needed a place where she could go get the creative stimulation and inspiration. This was how chibiland came into existence.
The first bag she created was such a success with a few rough edges, every re-creation became more functional and more stylish(chibi. stylish).
Within its evolving style through its many recreations the "chibi.Standard" was born and still evolving every style. It is available in a variety of sizes, colors and materials and now ready to be shared with the world.
